Ancient
Ivied Arched Window in Germany,
Oil on Canvas 16" x 20"
Some of my favorite subjects include arches, flowers, ivy, and centuries
old buildings, and I've got all of that in this oil. Although most of my
paintings are based on my own photos, friends and family who know the types
of subjects I like most are often on the lookout when they travel and take
pictures for me to use as inspiration for a painting. This painting is from
one of those photos, and I was immediately drawn to the plaster chipping off
the building to reveal the older layers. The flowers and new leaves growing
on the small tree are a nice contrast of new versus old. The greenery
behind the iron gate adds depth to the painting.
Giclee: $150 |
