Goldberg's Mine,  Watercolor on Paper 18" x 24"    

 

Goldberg's Mine is a bit of a tourist trap outside of Phoenix halfway along a route of hair-raising curves up a mountain.  I loved working on the distinctive colors of the unusual rock formations in the distance, and there was plenty of detail to be found in the saloon area of the painting.  Traveling to a variety of different areas enables me to expand my realm of painting topics and ideas, though, if I choose, I can still retain the detail I love to use in my watercolors.
