Terri Rosenblum

has long been known as a talented and diverse artist in the Northeast. After beginning her formal study at the Fine Arts program at the University of Pennsylvania, she has continued her art studies and has exhibited selectively in choice regional exhibitions. While her skills extend to a variety of media including papier mache, stone, and both hand built and thrown pottery, Ms. Rosenblum has been most celebrated for her work in watercolor and oil, as well as some interpretations in pastel and colored pencil.

Most noticeable in her work is the artist’s attention to detail. Ms. Rosenblum’s paintings are based largely on photographs she has taken during her global travels. New York City and florals are also among her particular favorites.

Currently, Ms. Rosenblum’s paintings are in the possession of both corporate and private collectors the world over who have found her and made her acquaintance. She has also executed commissioned commercial works and house portraits, and images from her paintings have appeared in children’s books.

The new web offering represents a first opportunity for national collectors to view and secure original works from the artist or to own a giclee signed by Ms. Rosenblum.

Artist’s Statement

Art has been a central part of my life since I could hold a drawing implement. In fact, after eye surgery necessitating patches on both eyes when I was 3 years old, I immediately wanted my paper and crayons despite not being able to see. My first love as an adult was watercolor. Since I added oils to my repertoire I have been delighted with the vivid colors I have been able to achieve in that medium, though I can’t get quite as much detail as I do in my watercolor paintings.

With each painting I do, I become so inspired to begin my next painting that I can’t wait to feel that I have completed the current work. There is an endless amount of painting ideas going through my mind almost all of the time. I have taken literally thousands of photographs, especially while traveling or in order to capture unusual shots of flowers. I then use many of those as starting points for my artwork. I could paint all day every day and still never finish everything I want to accomplish as I usually paint with such detail that each painting takes quite some time.

Included in my most often painted subjects are flowers, frequently sunflowers, alleys and street scenes from all over the world, and people from all countries and walks of life in the midst of their daily activities. New York City, especially the Broadway area, has been another of my favorite subjects. When I am painting in oil I especially enjoy creating larger than life flowers in bright colors, and I tend to portray all of my subjects in a positive light.

Terri's Sunflowers recently were used in a children's book Sunbelievable written and published by Jo Ann Kairys.
