Sunflowers are one of my favorite subjects to paint both in oil and in watercolor when they are fully in bloom and when they are starting to droop.   I have often purchased three or four flowers of varying sizes and stages in their life styles, arranging and rearranging the same blossoms over and over, taking endless digital photos.  I can then edit, crop and print some of the pictures and use them as a basis for planning several paintings.  "Three Sunflowers", "Backs of Sunflowers", "Reaching Toward the Sun", Standing Tall", "Huge Sunflowers", "Sunflowers Rising", "Sunflower Jungle", "Sunflower Tango" and "Strong Sunflower Backs" were all created using that method.
