| The Conversation: Santa Fe, Oil
on canvas 24" x 36" Indian Market Week which occurs annually in August in Santa Fe, is an amazing spectacle. Booths are set up everywhere, radiating out from a central plaza, where the Native American artists exhibit and sell their pottery, jewelry, rugs and baskets. I photographed so many candid situations that I used to inspire many paintings after I returned from Market Week. The Conversation is based on an assortment of scenarios that I had photographed when I was there. I wanted to depict the contrast between two women of totally different cultural backgrounds, dressed similarly, andstriking up a conversation. Original and giclee prints available. Giclee: $250 Original: $900 |
